Cameraman, teacher, President of the Association of Czech Cinematographers

Marek Jícha has been teaching as the FAMU Department of Cinematography since 2003. He teaches the essential film language from the perspective of a cinematographer’s work, digital cinematographic image processing, and presents specialised cinematography seminars in Czech and English.

Marek Jicha was born in 1959. He graduated from FAMU Department of Cinematography and, since then, has worked for Czech Television and for other European televisions and producers. In 2006 he was appointed an Associate Professor; in 2012, he was appointed a Professor. He was installed as the President of the Czech Cinematographers Association in the same year. He also serves as a jury member at film festivals, is a member of several professional organizations.
