Pavel Büchler, born 1952, Prague, living in United Kingdom, has been exhibiting internationally for over 30 years and is well known for his pioneering and charismatic conceptual work with language, obsolete technology and the moving image, as well as his long career as a teacher and writer. His recent exhibitions include Fondazione Prada, Milan; Sprengel Museum, Hanover; Kunstmuseum Bern; The National Gallery, Prague; IKON Gallery, Birmingham; Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow; Broad Art Museum, Michigan; Power Plant, Toronto; Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva; and Museion, Bolzano. A major monograph on Büchler’s work by Tommy Simoens was published last year by Ludion, Antwerp.

Pavel Büchler is represented by charismatic gallery Tanya Leighton. His works are in collection of Tate Gallery in London, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Van Abbemuseum,  Eindhoven, Fundació la Caixa, Barcelona and many other institutions.

In Czechia, although born in Prague, Pavel Büchler is still insufficiently exhibited, none of main public institutions have organised his retrospective exhibition. Pavel Büchler had his two solo exhibitions in a private museum DOX in Prague: Marná práce and How To Make It Go Away.
