Tomáš Šťastný has had a connection to cinematography from an early age. He had attended the Film and TV School Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, where he recently completed the Master of Arts programme in Cinematography and consequently was appointed an Assistant Professor. Already during his studies, Tomáš was awarded by the Czech Society of Cinematographers, FAMUfest, and Ostrava Kamera OKO. His work was presented in the selection of the prestigious CAMERIMAGE and MANAKI BROTHERS Festivals.
He is progressive but also very sensitive to the showcased topics and tasks he faces as a cinematographer. He loves challenges to push his shots further than a basic tripod shot, for example: A-OWD diver license for underwater shots, technocrane shots, motion controls etc.
Currently, he is working on feature films and documentaries, as well as commercials and music clips. Some of his interests are philosophy, photography, graphic design, and fine arts.
